NACQJ Qualified Instructor

Quilt Judging Education

I began judging in 2002 and certified in 2008. To date, I have judged over 200 shows regionally and nationally. I have also juried exhibitions and served as judging floor coordinator, so I thoroughly understand the entire judging process. My philosophy is to encourage entrants through positive and constructive feedback in both their design and workmanship.

Teaching Experience

I began teaching the NACQJ Quilt Judging Seminar in 2015 and am one of the association's Qualified Instructors. Since then I have taught the workshop in-person and live via Zoom for over five years. I also offer popular one-hour and half-day judging presentations to guilds and groups, as well as teach quilting and fiber art workshops in design and technique.

Quilt Show Entrants

As someone who enters quilt shows and has won national top awards--best of show and first place--I understand what it is like to be an entrant. Whether you already enter shows, would like to but don't know what to expect, or simply want to elevate your quilt making, this workshop is for you. You will learn how through design, workmanship and the judging process.
